Tackle that stash - Beaded Bollywood necklace

Sometimes things just come together. This time I picked Preciosa Ornela Twin Beads, those are two hole beads, from my stash. As you know off loom beading is not necessarily my world and I only do it rarely.
Twin Beads and the loom are not close friends, however. I had to think of something else and decided on a simple stitch (without being sure it was Herringbone, but that's what it was), but several colors that would go nicely together. These colors were clear with an orange lining, a transparent pink and a lovely topaz with AB finish. The seed beads that I thought would pull all of those together are gold lined crystal.

After beading for a while the necklace took on a Bollywood feel to me. I don't know if it's the lacy look or the color combination or both, but being a bit of a Bollywood fan I really liked the effect, so I kept going and going until I had enough for two lacy strands.
I do like when a piece has a mind of its own!

Saturday night ramblings

Again it has been a while since I showed you what I was working on, so I'll turn today's Saturday ramblings into a show post.
Aren't you happy? Just pictures and not so many words! ;-)
Have a great weekend.

More twin beads from Preciosa Ornela (much better than my first attempt and just a little selection)

I admit I'm proud of this one, not just because it's different techniques combined.

There are more of these "Dragon Scales" to come, in different colors, but these metallic rainbow Twins have really captured my heart.
I love this cuff, it makes me want to put flowers in my hair, sing "San Francisco" which is one of my favorite songs or dance to the songs from "Hair"!

My classic rope bangles are back, but I'm still working on more colors!

The classic ropes, braided up

Lately I have felt a bit like a child in boarding school on my blog, forever promising to write, well, not home in that case, but you get the idea.
Now that I try to participate as much as possible in Fusion Beads' 30 Day Challenge, it might be easier to keep that up and show you the pieces I have actually made, so stay tuned!

Saturday night ramblings or maybe just a little fun

Just a bit of harmless fun.
I was hanging out in my armchair and suddenly felt the urge to check out the Preciosa Ornela Twin beads that I have in so many great colors. I have practically never beaded off loom except maybe two or three times, so I kept it simple for this first time.
I used wire, the Twin beads in a light transparent green and yellow and some crystal drop beads that I mistook for regular seed beads at first. Reminder to myself ... I really need a better lamp next to my armchair, the other one is cozy, but not a lamp for beading.

In the end - meaning the end of the wire and the end of my DVD which was very good timing, ok, coincidence) a tube which I will probably put on a keychain.
Not too exciting, so I played with the camera and the tube instead ...
