I can't be completely sure because one platform deleted my whole account once instead of just the shop part, but from looking through my files it looks as if I bought my very first lampwork beads in April 2010. I do remember, however, that I looked up where the name lampwork came from (in earlier times lamps were used to melt the glass).
Glass had always fascinated me, but I do have, erm, let's say huge respect for fire because it sounds less wimpy than saying I'm afraid of it although that is partially true. Anyway, it is something I don't see in my own future, but why would I need it? There are fabulous lampworkers out there and I know I'm not the only one that is addicted to their products.
