Welcome to the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!
My
posts for the link up will go live on Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. EDT or, if
you live in the future like I do, on Fridays at 3:30 a.m. CE(S)T.
As part of the reboot, we will be featuring a different blog every week.
How about stopping by and saying hello? Let them know we sent you.
This week our spotlight is on Homemade on a Weeknight.
Estelle from Homemade on a Weeknight says: "I am a lot of things – wife, mother, niece, friend, business owner, volunteer, and a home chef. I have lived in the Pacific Northwest for most of my adult life and plan to stay forever. We are currently embarking on our next chapter of life as we make the move to create our life dream of being Homesteaders, in the great state of Montana. ...
Most of the reason we feel like we cannot cook homemade or “real” food on a weeknight is that we do not have the right set of tools in our arsenal.
We need good, easy to follow recipes that have regular everyday ingredients. We need a few basic cooking techniques. And we need a plan. That is really all you need to start making homemade dinners every day of the week. Preparing a home cooked meal almost every day of the week is a sure way to get a true sense of accomplishment each day – you get to see your success on a plate!
So, let’s get cookin’!"
Marsha from Marsha in the Middle started blogging in 2021 as an exercise in increasing her neuroplasticity. Oh, who are we kidding? Marsha started blogging because she loves clothes, and she loves to talk or, in this case, write!
Melynda from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household - The name says it all, we homestead in East Texas, with three generations sharing this land. I cook and bake from scratch, between gardening and running after the chickens, and knitting!
Lisa from Boondock Ramblings shares about the fiction she writes and reads, her faith, homeschooling, photography and more.
Cat from Cat's Wire has what she calls a jumping spider brain. She has many interests and will blog about whatever catches her attention - crafts, books, old movies, collectibles or random things.
Rena from Fine Whatever Blog writes about style, midlife, and the "fine whatever" moments that make life both meaningful and fun. Since 2015, she's been celebrating creativity, confidence, and finding joy in the everyday.
Here are some of my picks from last week's link up.
Lisa presents her favorite movie - "Singin' in the Rain".
Marsha talks about thinning hair and what to do about it.
Sandi shows us how to keep herself busy with art classes when not working in the garden due to the heat.
Shelbee has never been a fan of jumpsuits, but now she found the perfect one.
Pat tells us more about the Big Blue Bear sculpture in Denver.
Let's link up!

I immediately got stuck looking at that lovely icecream! It looks so professional, I can't believe it was homemade. I'm impressed!
ReplyDeleteIt's so easy, though! Frozen bananas - to save them from dying a more gruesome death - and strawberries with a bit of left over cream (a friend uses Seven Up, but you can also try a bit of condensed milk or yogurt, just experiment).

DeleteOhh that Banana Strawberry ice cream looks so good. We made some guava ice cream a while ago and now your ice cream is inspiring me to make mine again :) !
ReplyDeleteOooh, that sounds good, too!
DeleteYou lost me at banana!!! I made myself sick with them when I was a kid and now can't even stomach the smell. Thanks so much for the feature! I was so surprised to see my face there!

I'm not even such a big fan of bananas, but they are what makes this ice cream so easy to make. I don't think I would eat pure banana ice cream, but what you add to it really makes it. I totally hear you about the smell of something making you sick. I once got food poisoning when I was in the US and although I don't know if the herb/garlic butter was to blame, its smell was overpowering everything else and even now I still avoid garlic as the smell can make me feel sick.
DeleteYou are most welcome!
Thank you so much for hosting this fun party!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you have a lovely day!
