Welcome to the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!
My
posts for the link up will go live on Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. EDT or, if
you live in the future like I do, on Fridays at 3:30 a.m. CE(S)T.
This is a picture friends sent me from their vacation at a camping site in The Netherlands.
What is it about chickens that makes me smile? I don't know, but I wanted to share that smile with you.
Are you ready for the weekend?
As part of the reboot, we will be featuring a different blog every week.
How about stopping by and saying hello? Let them know we sent you.
This week our spotlight is on Handmade by Amalia.
Amalia from Handmade by Amalia says: "Welcome to my blog! This is the place where I write about my crafts, mostly crochet, needlework and recycled paper, and a little bit about my life as it touches it - family, work, travel … I wish to live my life with creativity and kindness and my blog challenges me to do that. I'm glad you stopped by!"
Marsha from Marsha in the Middle started blogging in 2021 as an exercise in increasing her neuroplasticity. Oh, who are we kidding? Marsha started blogging because she loves clothes, and she loves to talk or, in this case, write!
Melynda from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household - The name says it all, we homestead in East Texas, with three generations sharing this land. I cook and bake from scratch, between gardening and running after the chickens, and knitting!
Lisa from Boondock Ramblings shares about the fiction she writes and reads, her faith, homeschooling, photography and more.
Cat from Cat's Wire has what she calls a jumping spider brain. She has many interests and will blog about whatever catches her attention - crafts, books, old movies, collectibles or random things.
Rena from Fine Whatever Blog writes about style, midlife, and the "fine whatever" moments that make life both meaningful and fun. Since 2015, she's been celebrating creativity, confidence, and finding joy in the everyday.
Here are some of my picks from last week's link up.
Paula shares with us how to make blackberry passionfruit iced tea.
Linda shows us pictures of the wrens that live (w)rentfree in her garden.
Amy is talking about her Friday Favorites.
Sally has combined black and brights for the latest Style Imitating Art challenge.
Lisa is sharing a bookish link up - A Good Book & a Cup of Tea.
Let's link up!

Chickens make me smile, too! But, I wouldn't want to raise them. When we had chicks in our classrooms, you wouldn't believe how nasty smelling they can be. Of course, if I had a large open space, that would be completely different. My mom was a farm girl, and I remember her talking about gathering eggs.

I know chickens from my childhood - my godmother's parents had a farm - and then again from our local zoo where we volunteered and also my friend's parents had a farm. I think the open space really makes a difference.
DeleteChickens are lovely creatures. We've got two left, and they're great to have around so I totally get you smiling Cat.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you had chickens, Nicole! Give them a pet from me.
DeleteThose look just like the variety of chickens my mother in law used to have!
ReplyDeleteI seem to remember that my friend said they are Orpingtons, but I don't remember about the white one.
DeleteThe chicken photo is so sweet, how nice of your friends to think of you. Thanks for the party!
ReplyDeleteWe often talk about the chicken they used to have 😀
DeleteYou are welcome!
I love your chicken photo, dear friend! I do love chickens, I always smile when I see them. (and here in Montreal I never get to see them). Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI live in town, so I don't get to see them either these days, therefore I love them sending me pictures of these!
DeleteChickens have always made me smile, too... especially when we raised them each spring in our classroom! Thankfully, we always found a lovely home for them when the school year ended! Thanks so much for the party, Cat!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's wonderful. The only animals we had in school were stick insects.
DeleteYou are welcome, Laura! I tried to comment on your post, by the way, but the captchas kept coming and coming and after 15 I finally gave up.
Thank you so much for hosting this fun party!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you have a lovely day!
Angie
PS My linkups are 64, 65, 66 & 67
You are welcome, Angie, have a lovely Sunday!
DeleteChickens always make me smile too. When I was a young adult my parents had chickens - just for the eggs. I always found them so peaceful to watch.
ReplyDeleteYes, they have real character. I love hearing my friends' chicken stories!
DeleteThat picture of the chickens at the campsite is absolutely delightful, and they honestly have a way of bringing an instant smile to your face! It is so wonderful to see the community coming together for Week 160, and highlighting Amalia's beautiful focus on creativity and kindness is such a lovely touch for this week's spotlight. The variety in last week's favorites from blackberry passionfruit iced tea to those clever (w)rent-free garden wrens—, shows just how much talent and fun is packed into this group. Thank you for hosting such a warm and welcoming space to connect, it has me completely ready to dive into the links and visit some fabulous new blogs this weekend!
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've heard, they were spoiled by everyone!
DeleteYou are very welcome, Melody, thank you for participating.
