Weekend Traffic Jam - Week 154

Welcome to the Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot!
My posts for the link up will go live on Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. EDT or, if you live in the future like I do, on Fridays at 3:30 a.m. CE(S)T.

Happy Labor Day!

You may be confused now if you are in the USA, but many other countries celebrate Labor Day on May 1 inspired by the "Haymarket affair" in Chicago in 1886 ... although that started on May 4, but of course that's "Star Wars Day" now, think they knew that when chose May 1 for Labor Day?
🤡 Do you celebrate "Star Wars Day"? Or are you a "Star Trek" fan? Okay, I notice I'm starting to ramble, so let's get going ...

Are you ready for the weekend?

As part of the reboot, we will be featuring a different blog every week.
How about stopping by and saying hello? Let them know we sent you.

This week our spotlight is on Fit Foodie Megha.

Megha from Fit Foodie Megha says: "
Welcome to Fitfoodiemegha.com, owned by Megha Chhatbar, who is obsessed with food. She is an honest food reviewer, ardent traveller and an enthusiastic painter who also loves reading, cooking, trying new cuisines and making good friends. Basically, FitfoodieMegha.com is your guide to good food, wherein, she has shared her personal experience by spending most of the time sampling the city's food offerings and reviewing restaurants.
The dream is to expand the blog to the world of eating, hoping to travel and eat enough to share detail descriptions of the food any restaurant has to offer!"

Marsha from Marsha in the Middle started blogging in 2021 as an exercise in increasing her neuroplasticity. Oh, who are we kidding? Marsha started blogging because she loves clothes, and she loves to talk or, in this case, write!

Melynda from Scratch Made Food! & DIY Homemade Household - The name says it all, we homestead in East Texas, with three generations sharing this land. I cook and bake from scratch, between gardening and running after the chickens, and knitting!

Lisa from Boondock Ramblings shares about the fiction she writes and reads, her faith, homeschooling, photography and more.

Cat from
Cat's Wire has what she calls a jumping spider brain. She has many interests and will blog about whatever catches her attention - crafts, books, old movies, collectibles or random things.

Rena from Fine Whatever Blog writes about style, midlife, and the "fine whatever" moments that make life both meaningful and fun. Since 2015, she's been celebrating creativity, confidence, and finding joy in the everyday.

Here are some of my picks from last week's link up.

Erin has put together a list of books with disability representation (mostly elementary and YA for now, but it looks to me as if this will become a longer project).

I love yellow, but don't wear it well. Kathrine's yellow dress, however, is so cute ... and it has polka dots!

Deb is talking about her word of the year - silly. Sounds just right for me.

I love the owl curtain Gina put up in her laundry nook!

Kristin's pasta dishes look so good.

Let's link up!

  1. In the Netherlands we don't celebrate this day, I don't think but I do know about it because a lot of people from Germany have a day off and come to visit the Netherlands : )

    1. I'm not surprised they do. For those who don't participate in demos, it's usually a day to go hiking or making a day trip.

  3. I am a Trekkie, but my son-in-law is a Star Wars fan. What began as a lark is now a tradition. I have bought him a new Star Wars tee every Christmas for probably the last 10 years. He has quite the collection now.

    1. I have seen the original Star Trek series as a kid, I was forced to see one movie at the cinema (I fell asleep), never watched anything else ... BUT I also only know the classic Star Wars trilogy and never had the urge to see more. I have been a Han Solo/Harrison Ford fan from the first second and I got my happy ending, that's all I wanted.

    2. Oh, I didn't really like the movies, but I loved the series. We have also watched all the iterations out now. Mike loves them, and I just watch along.

    3. It's just not my genre. Sci-fi, action, superheroes are not for me. You know how old-fashioned I am *whistling innocently* I just finished a book from 1910. I think it's nice there is something for everyone!

  4. Our youngest granddaughter (turning 2 in a few days) was born on May 4 so I've become quite familiar with "Star Wars Day" and "May the 4th be with you"! We never really watched the Star Wars movies (although my brother and his family are experts) but I did enjoy the original Star Trek series! Thanks for the party, Cat! We're sharing #19 and #20 this week! Happy may!
