As you probably know, we start celebrating on Christmas Eve here in Germany and it's also the day of gift giving.
I have written about that and about the Christ Child as the gift bringer in my part of the world before.
Things may have changed in the last 50 years 😉, but in my time it was tradition in my and my friends' families to put up the tree on the morning of Christmas Eve.
Seems the Christ Child did too!

Beautiful photo. ❤️ Merry Christmas 🎄 to you. I wish you good health, love, happiness and peace.
ReplyDeleteThank you and the same for you, Linda! ❤️
DeleteThe Christ Child is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Michelle!
DeleteA Dawn doll!! I had several, and this one is beautiful in her Christmas finery. Merry Christmas to you across the miles. (:
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gina! We didn't have them here in Germany when I was a kid.
DeleteMerry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you, Gundel, and der Dekan! I think that must be a European thing to decorate on Little Christmas Eve as my Norwegian boyfriends refer to it. I don't think I could do that. Christmas would have come and gone before I'd have the tree even up! But, we all know I'm a maximalist! Your Christ Child (Dawn) is stunning in his/her Christmas attire!

Yes, I know it from other countries as well. As a child, I was always sad how quickly the Christmas was gone.
DeleteMerry Christmas, Marsha!
That really is a different kind of Christ Child : ))
ReplyDeleteWell, there are no curls like on the one at Christmas markets, but the overall look was inspired by the picture of the Christ Child in the Struwwelpeter 😁 (with artistic license for the crown of course)
DeleteI love that you made these. And now let the 12 days of Christmas begin! Merry Christmas!

Thank you, Mireille! I hope you are enjoying the holidays, too.
DeleteBeautiful! And happy holidays!
ReplyDeleteThank you and Happy Holidays to you as well!
DeleteWe now do Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas day with my inlaws...much less tiring than when we did both in one day!
ReplyDeleteThat's how my ex and I used to do it after one year got very exhausting.
DeleteI love those plushy Christmas trees! I get Christmas Eve off work as most of my clients who send me jobs with quick turnarounds are European (but then I worked on our Boxing Day for a Finn, so ...). Happy New Year, now!
ReplyDeleteAren't they fun? They look so cute with my Christmas Steiffs.
DeleteHappy New Year, Liz!
