Oldies but Goodies - Travel

This week the Jewelry Artisans Community Oldies but Goodies Challenge was about travelling, but guess what, no planes, no trains and no automobiles turned up in the entries.
Jewelry artisans, I tell you. They go on a trip and the first thing they find in a city is a bead store. They are looking for charms, shells, nothing is safe from them if you don't stop them.
So today I am taking you to Italy, Eilat, Vermont, Lake Tahoe, and Cambridge - all via beads ;-) And there's more to see in the original thread, too!

  3. Visiting all those different bead stores opens up a whole new creative world. My local store tends to carry the same thing all the time and most of the big online supplies are used by the majority of jewelry designers. I can't tell you how often I've been looking at another designer's jewelry only to see beads or components that are also in my stash. Right away I know they probably bought them from "such and such" online store.

Love seeing all this diversity from all over the world!

  4. P.S. Cat. Your line about how the first thing jewelry artisans do is find the bead stores in whatever city made me laugh. Forget all the famous landmarks - where is the bead store!

    1. I thought about telling you one or two stories, but hey, why not make that a topic for a blog carnival sometime!
