Zibbet finds of the week - Glass

In November 2013 I told you a little about our school library which was run by my first Latin and biology teacher, Mrs Evler. Today's finds post is dedicated to her. Now you may wonder what glass has to do with my Latin teacher.
Well, in biology she always treated us to pictures of her photo safaris on the last day before vacations, I remember Africa and Nepal best. In Latin she tried not just to teach us the language, but also paint a picture of the times and she recommended books that went with the subjects.
One of them was called "Dark glass and fish in the lamp", was set in the Roman Germania of around 100 AD and was about a young glassmaker who was rumored to have invented unbreakable glass.

The glass I'll show you now is probably not unbreakable and not that old, either. It's just as fascinating and beautiful, though.
